Creative Powerhouse Bob English Joins Definition 6 as Creative Director

Definition 6, a unified marketing
agency, today announced it has hired Bob English to run its motion
design group in New York. Bob will be responsible for
branding, design and creative direction for clients in the post
production and motion design departments at Definition 6, reporting
directly to managing partner, Rob Ortiz.
Bob comes to the agency with over 30 years of design and
creative expertise where he has provided leadership on projects
from concept to completion. His experience is in all types of
production from live action, photography, illustration, 3D, 2D,
traditional animation, multimedia, interactive, print and
web. Some clients he has worked with include Nickelodeon,
Food Network, NBC, National Geographic, HGTV, Discovery, Disney,
FOX, Lifetime, CBS, Live Earth and PBS.
Prior to joining Definition 6, Bob worked as a design consultant
for clients in media and entertainment via a company he founded in
2001 called Thebritpack, where he provided a practical
perspective on the search for creative solutions.
Before founding Thebritpack, Bob acted as executive creative
director of the media and entertainment/brand identity group at
Razorfish after its merger with Lee Hunt Associates in December
1999. Bob joined the New York office of Lee Hunt Associates in 1997
after designing one of the world's first interactive broadcast
services for Tele-TV, to lead and develop LHA's new broadcast
design division. Bob's unique vision and international experience
helped LHA/Razorfish launch network packages all over the
world.
Back in 1985, Bob co-founded English+Pockett (UK) with broadcast
designer Darrell Pockett, building it up to be one of the most
renowned branding and design agencies in the world. Their redesign
of A&E Network won an unprecedented 17 awards from the BDA.
Previous to that role, Bob served as Head of Design at Channel
Four (UK) and prior to that he began his career in the BBC graphic
design department. During his tenure, he redesigned the BBC News
corporate identity.
"Bob's talent and experience is second to none. We are
thrilled to attract such a high pedigree of talent in Bob to lead
the creative direction for the motion design group within our
company, and Bob is equally as excited to flex his creative muscles
across so many different platforms on which Definition 6 works. We
are a motion design company that produces work for all four
screens. With his proven track record of success, I feel
confident in his ability to create a lasting footprint in the
industry," says Rob Ortiz.
"Our company continues to grow in unprecedented ways, with
amazing production execution and strategic vision, constantly
evolving our work to award-worthy heights," says Michael Kogon,
chief executive officer at Definition 6. "Adding Bob to the
team not only bolsters our creative capabilities but also
solidifies our place within the community as a place that generates
great work. We are proud to have him on board."
Bob's accolades include awards from D&AD, Royal Television
Society, BBC Design, Telly Awards, International New York
Festivals, Monitor, Leaf, Promax and BDA.
He has also served on many international design juries and is a
regular speaker at industry conferences. A gallery of his work can
