NBC Digital Marketing Veteran Jonathan Accarrino Joins Definition 6 Social Media Team
Definition 6, an integrated interactive agency, today announced
it has hired Jonathan Accarrino, one of New York's leading creative
voices in digital marketing as a subject matter expert in Social
Media. He will be based in the company's New York City office
and will be responsible for developing innovative social media
programs for Definition 6 clients.
Accarrino joined Definition 6, after a distinguished run at The
NBC Agency where he first established a social media presence for
the entire NBC News portfolio of world-class brands. In his role as
Manager of Digital Marketing since 2005, Accarrino was responsible
for all social networking promotion, training, and account voice
development for on-air and online talent, franchises, and NBC
Universal executives.
"Jon is a creative powerhouse in Social Media and Digital
Marketing, Definition 6 and our clients will benefit from his deep
experience and strategic thinking, combined with his immense
understanding of new Internet technologies," said Michael Kogon,
CEO of Definition 6. "With Jon Accarrino on our team,
Definition 6 is ramping up to meet the increasing demands from
major brands for niche targeting, viral marketing and brand
extension strategies to expand audience scale and cultivate new
promotional monetization opportunities."
Accarrino successfully built NBC's social media presence from the
ground up by developing new digital promotion and community
building strategies for NBC News, MSNBC and MSNBC.com, including
Facebook Pages, desktop widgets, Twitter, Pownce, Flickr and Tumblr
profiles, BlogAds campaigns, advergames, podcasts and viral videos.
Collectively, Accarrino oversaw a community of 10 million users
from over 100 of NBC News' social media accounts including notable
accounts like the TODAY Show, David Gregory, Meet The Press, MSNBC
Lockup, Rachel Maddow, Ann Curry, Chris Hansen and Al Roker.
He received significant press attention after creating the first
exhibit floor blogger lounge in the history of CES, for the NBC
Universal booth. This sponsored marketing experiment succeeded in
providing NBCU and its sponsors overall brand exposure, and
generated substantial excitement around NBC Universal's CES
presence.
Accarrino was also the co-creator and executive producer of two
web-based shows for NBC Universal - "Today Show Backstage Pass" and
"NBC Universal In Focus".
Earlier in his career, Accarrino was a Digital Projects Manager at
NBC DesignWorks where he was responsible for the design, project
management and execution of new media projects including games,
websites, presentations, DVDs and interactive installations for NBC
News, GE Corporate, MSNBC, CNBC, and NBC Sports.
Accarrino, a GE certified Six Sigma Green Belt, is currently using
social media listening tools to find reality TV free beaches while
on vacation at the New Jersey Shore this summer. You can follow him
